Gary Jacobson, proprietor, explains, "The deteriorating retail environment in Boston's Downtown Crossing coupled with the weak overall economic conditions are not sustaining this location. After 92 years at this location and more than 230 years in Boston, we regret having to close this door and eagerly look forward to the time when we can reopen a Boston store."

Boston Magazine Lists The London Harness Company As A Source For Fine Luggage
The February 2009 issue of Boston Magazine lists The London Harness Company as one of six stores where quality luggage can be found. In the magazine's column, "THE HUNT: ONE FOR THE ROAD," the headline reads, "We've all got baggage. Here's where to buy the good kind."
The writer describes The London Harness Company as, "deliciously old-school...not surprising, as its roots date back to 1776 in Boston."

The London Harness Company was honored by the Wellesley Chamber of Commerce as "Outstanding New Member" at the Chamber's Seventh Annual Business Recognition Awards Dinner, which was held January 15, 2009 at Babson College's Knight Auditorium.
